IBM Storage Performance Engineer in Guadalajara, Mexico

Your Role and Responsibilities

Storage Performance Engineer work with Storage Architects, Product Owners, SME and Research to proactively identify and remove performance bottlenecks and drive Storage Scale and Enterprise Storage Solution (ESS) performance to the next level. They present at User Group meetings and interact with customers. They analyze hot customer performance defects and implement code fixes within Storage Scale and ESS. They drive performance of Storage Scale and ESS to the next level using standard benchmark tests (IO500, IOR, Condor FIO, Spec SFS on Nvidia hardware for AI workloads) and overcome performance bottlenecks by continuous code development.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Good problem solving and analytical skills

  • Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work and ability to multitask

  • Good communication skills, clarity in written and oral communication

  • Applied knowledge of Computer or Electrical Engineering principals

  • Applied knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as C, C++, Fortran Bash, CSH, TSCH, Perl, Python, Ruby

  • Applied knowledge of Ethernet networking and other network environments

  • Applied knowledge of Linux distros such as : RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu.

  • Knowledge of Storage concepts.

  • Knowledge of File protocols

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Applied knowledge of Software defined storage

  • Applied Knowledge of File Systems and File Protocols

  • Applied Knowledge of Containers

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
