Position Purpose:

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Intern will support key operational functions of the GME department, gaining hands-on experience in healthcare administration. This internship provides an immersive learning experience for students interested in healthcare management, public health, or business administration, offering exposure to various aspects of GME operations, including recruitment, compliance, data management, and communications.

What You Will Do:

  • Administrative Support: Assist with the coordination and management of day-to-day GME program operations, including planning events, meetings, and program activities.

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Participate in the resident and fellow recruitment process, helping to schedule interviews, organize tours, and assist with onboarding materials for new recruits.

  • Communications: Draft, edit, and distribute various GME-related communications, including emails, newsletters, and announcements. Assist in the creation of marketing content to promote GME programs through social media and other platforms.

  • Data Management: Help collect, organize, and analyze program-related data such as resident evaluations, surveys, and rotation schedules. Provide support in creating reports for program leadership and external reviews.

  • Compliance and Accreditation Support: Assist in ensuring that the program adheres to accreditation requirements by organizing necessary documentation, tracking certifications, and preparing for audits and site visits.

  • Special Projects: Contribute to GME initiatives, such as wellness programs for residents, marketing materials, and educational content development. Assist in creating video content for the GME website to attract prospective applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, ideally pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Management, or a related field.

  • Skills Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interest in healthcare or medical education is a plus.
