POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecules (PSSM) group is part of Pfizer's Research & Development (PRD) organization and is responsible for developing the active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations & manufacturing processes needed to transform laboratory candidate molecules into potential new medicines. The Data & Digital Innovation team (DDI) is part of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecule Data Sciences line with a mission to transform the way scientific, operational and process information related to the design, development and clinical manufacturing of products is collected, stored, accessed, reported, and analyzed through innovative solutions that leverage state of the art digital technologies.

PSSM's digital transformation journey will require a diverse portfolio of data & digital skills and technologies. Colleagues in PSSM use various digital solutions (either off-the-shelf or custom) built on a wide range of technical platforms and tools. This role will be primarily responsible for ensuring colleagues have a seamless experience using all the digital infrastructure as part of their jobs. This role will understand the daily work of PSSM colleagues and will blend knowledge of PSSM systems, IT hardware & networks and lab/manufacturing equipment to provide colleagues a world-class experience in their day-to-day interactions with digital systems and tools. This role will also be the single point of contact for all PSSM manufacturing and operations systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure colleagues can access and use Pfizer provided digital equipment and assets without any issues

  • Increase colleague engagement and compliance with systems and tools by organizing design thinking and brainstorming workshops

  • Lead and organize office hours with various lines to discuss digital chokepoints and issues

  • Partner with vendors and Pfizer Digital teams to resolve network and other infrastructure issues

  • Manage current digital hardware for PSSM

  • Partner with New Technologies & Innovation lead to implement new capabilities (RFID, 5G etc.)

  • Collaborate with Pfizer Digital to implement standardized tools and platforms

  • Lead and drive adoption of modern, cloud-based technologies through consistent training and learning based workshops

  • Represent DDI / Data Sciences at crossline teams and forums such as PSSM Capital Board, GWE, Site Planning Teams etc.

  • Understand current state for lab and manufacturing support processes and develop future state proposals (e.g. Easy Button) to make it easier for colleagues

  • Align system-based workflows across sites (Groton, RCMF, Chennai etc.)

  • Provide system stewardship for all PSSM manufacturing systems (eBR, Historian, Control Systems etc.)

  • Align with partner lines (BTxPS, PGS etc.) to ensure the same systems (or similar technologies) are used for a given business process to enable facile data sharing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Science or similar field of study with 10+ years of related pharmaceutical experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Science or similar field of study with 5+ years of related pharmaceutical experience

  • Strong awareness / experience with programming languages (python), data and digital technologies and infrastructure like cloud platforms

  • Knowledge of lab and manufacturing equipment and lab benchtop hardware & software

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information.

  • Knowledge of various operating systems for devices (Windows, iOS, Android)

PREFERRED QUALIIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical research and development processes

  • Pharmaceutical Labs and/or Manufacturing experience

  • Experience with data management

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $218,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
