POSITION SUMMARY
The Accountant / AP Supervisor will perform general accounting functions within the department. This position will supervise an accounts payable staff of 3 people. This role will also be responsible for reconciliation of various general ledger accounts as well as maintenance/reconciliation of subsidiary accounting systems. The position will provide support to enhance business processes and will perform analysis and analytical review. This accountant/supervisor will also be responsible for review of entry/import activity into the Ellucian Colleague system and other accounting duties including oversight of the processing of invoices and payments by the accounts payable team.

Special project work and assistance on projects with Controller and other staff
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in accounting or finance or business administration plus 5 years or more of relevant work experience
Associate Degree in one of the above fields with a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience can substitute for the Bachelor’s degree
Must have 3 years supervisory experience
Excellent math, verbal, and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft products, accounting software and database activity
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
Able to work independently and practice good judgment and also work as a member of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in accounts payable
