Position Summary

The Repair & Maintenance Engineering position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. A Manager position manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures

• Influences, coaches, and develops, succession planning, etc.

• Manages team to apply repair and maintenance engineering principles to deliver customer technical/functional specifications, budget adherence, automation/continuous improvement of processes, and cost/efficiency requirements

• Creates and manages institutional knowledge

• Plans and coordinates maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications

• Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts

• Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules

• Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment

• Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; 6 y+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience

Or Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience
