We are Now Hiring a Dispatcher in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana

Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily road service
Provide customer support responding to questions and concerns
Manage emergency situations for Operators
Schedules and dispatches drivers both via radio and window dispatch work
Answers calls from clients and schedule services
Enters data into spreadsheets and databases –
Maintains records, logs, and schedules of the calls received to schedule transit services, drivers dispatched, and customer cancellations or no-shows –
Prepares reports on all activities occurring during their shifts.
Assists with the preparation of daily schedules and work flow related to daily scheduling - Serves as an emergency contact for drivers in the field
Coordinates communications between drivers and other supervisory, Risk Management, and Training/Safety personnel.
Receives, research, and answers customer inquiries and requests regarding accounts, rates, and services offered.
Monitors, evaluates, and presents solutions to potential problem areas.
Trains, explains tasks, and assists in the solution of problems
Maintains close liaison with other departments to carry order through to completion.
Analyzes transactions, corrects records, and adjusts errors. - Professionally, courteously, and proficiently handle customer inquiries.
Receive and record comments and complaints, resolving such complaints to the extent authorized.
Schedule Paratransit trips per customer request in compliance with ADA laws.
Directs drivers through radio contact
And other duties as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
3-5+ years’ experience dispatching
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Computer literate
A valid Chauffeur’s or Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and airbrake endorsements required.
Experience preferred:
One to two years of dispatch and/or customer service experience preferred Âkills and Knowledge Required:
Ability to organize logical and efficient schedules and routes and adapt to changes - Ability to read, comprehend and understand a map
Ability to read, understand, and interpret transit system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases and routes
Ability to assist handicapped passengers when needed
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs - Strong written and oral communication skills
Clear speech and pleasant phone demeanor
Ability to use a multi-line phone system and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups
Ability to deal patiently and friendly with external customer problems and complaints and remain courteous when faced with difficult or angry customers a must
Must be a team player yet able to work well independently
Must be able to work on various shifts or flexible work schedules
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
