Description

We are in search of a Database Administrator to join our team. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Database Administrator, you will be involved in managing and optimizing our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance and security, and providing database-related support to our development and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases and related applications.

• Monitoring and optimization of database performance, including implementing indexing strategies and query optimization.

• Implementation and management of backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability.

• Management of database security measures, including user access control and data encryption.

• Diagnosis and resolution of database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.

• Application of updates and patches to SQL Server instances to ensure their security and up-to-dateness.

• Creation and maintenance of documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

• Collaboration with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application development and system integration.

• Monitoring and forecasting of database capacity requirements to ensure scalability and performance.

• Ensuring databases comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements • Must have a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices

• Must have hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is required

• Must have experience in Backup Technologies to ensure data safety

• Must have solid technical skills in Database Administration

• Must have experience in Database Tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval

• Must have skills in SQL Performance Tuning for optimizing database systems

• Experience in SQL Tuning to improve server performance is essential

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
