The Opportunity The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for managing payroll operations for the US, Canada, and international regions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations. The Payroll Supervisor will oversee a team of payroll specialists, coordinate with HR and finance departments, and provide accurate and timely payroll reports and an What You'll Do Supervise, train, and mentor the payroll team members, ensuring the quality and efficiency of payroll processing Review and approve payroll transactions, adjustments, deductions, taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll-related items Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations in the US and Canada, including tax filings, year-end reporting, audits, and reconciliations Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls, and ensure adherence to best practices and internal standards Manage payroll system configuration, updates, testing, and troubleshooting Partner with HR and finance teams to ensure alignment and accuracy of payroll data, and resolve any payroll issues or discrepancies Prepare and analyze payroll reports, metrics, and trends, and provide recommendations for process improvement and cost reduction Respond to payroll inquiries and requests from employees, managers, and external parties Stay abreast of payroll legislation and trends, and provide guidance and training to the payroll team and other stakeholders Prepare and complete payroll elements in Financial Statement and other Accounting related audits Adhere to and comply with California Payroll Reporting Requirements Collaborate and partner with international payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for international subsidiaries What We Expect from You Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Experience with multi-state and multi-country payroll processing, preferably in the US and Canada Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices in the US and Canada Proficiency in payroll software, preferably UKG, and Microsoft Dynamics Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred 401k and workers' compensation knowledge are preferred Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
