Essential Functions Statement(s) Provide calculation-based improvements to existing standard engineering details. Research and test new methods of using metal plate connected wood floor trusses. Creatively Design field repairs for truss components in accordance with acceptable engineering principles and judgment. Design truss components based on specified parameters from customers and use their knowledge of engineering and the building codes along with collaboration with other engineers in the office to ensure their designs protect the health safety and welfare of the public. Discusses design modifications and reviews appropriate design methodologies with customers. Assist, train and counsel customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems. Review results of the truss design software for accuracy and collaborate with other engineers and with the software development team to determine how the software should function. Collaborate with engineers, architects and building officials on customer component design projects.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Pursuing a bachelor's degree in an accredited college degree program in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; expected to graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 with potential to convert to full-time employment. Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher Ownership of one or more high priority projects that will assess your problem solving and leadership skills.
