Job Description:
As a Systems Engineer you will be involved in activities directly related to the design, and development of complex, specialized hardware/software systems to process and manipulate ISR data from multiple data sources. You will participate in all facets of the Systems Engineering Paradigm.
Essential Functions:
Works closely with the customer to comprehensively design and implement new system functionality. Writes requirements, supports development, performs integration testing of new or modified products in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms. Verifies and validates new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality continues to work as intended.
Will interface with other Systems Engineers, Agile Development Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development and Project Engineering to understand new baseline functionality.
Follows existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with system hardware and software and verifies subsequent anomaly fixes.
Interfaces with the customer to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.
Will work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.
Will provide regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to management and the customer.
Active Secret Clearance, TS/SCI (U.S. Citizenship Required) will ultimately be needed to perform job duties.
An in-depth operational understanding of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), specifically Communications Intelligence (COMINT).
Interface with other Systems Engineers, Project Engineers across multiple programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Graduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proven ability to meet timelines.
Microsoft Office expertise.
Able to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in systems engineering activities is a plus:
Analysis of customer requirements, including system and sub-system trade studies
Analysis of detailed hardware and software specifications for systems, subsystems, and key components
Development of test planning/procedures of various test equipment including anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
Leadership - Task or IPT Leader.
Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities.
IRAD and Technical Baseline development.
Requirements Management.
Technical Communication.
Proposal Development.
Master's degree is desirable.
Experience in design, development and/or testing of COMINT/ELINT systems.
Hands-on experience integrating complex software intensive systems in a lab and/or aircraft environment.
Experience with the Agile development methodology (Kanban, Scrum, SaFE, etc.)
An active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance
Flight status eligible (must pass flight physical)
Military or Operational COMINT field experience
TS/SCI Clearance.
