iParametrics LLC Process-Mechanical Engineer (Remote) in Greenville, South Carolina

JOB TITLE: Process-Mechanical Engineer (SR/Principal) LOCATION: Remote (w. occasional travel to Greenville, SC) JOB DESCRIPTION The Process-Mechanical Engineer will lead process design and engineering efforts for complex industrial systems. This position requires advanced expertise in process simulations, equipment selection, and process optimization, while also overseeing junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The Senior/Principal Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of process design deliverables, including PFDs and P&IDs.

  • Perform and oversee process simulations and advanced calculations using tools such as Aspen HYSYS.

  • Take responsibility for the selection, specification, and procurement of process equipment.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety considerations in all process designs.

  • Manage client communications, presenting technical designs and updates.

  • Oversee the integration of process designs with mechanical and piping systems.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, including ASME, API, and OSHA standards.

  • Lead and participate in design reviews, safety reviews, and troubleshooting for complex issues.

  • Conduct site visits to assess installation, performance, and compliance with project specifications.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of process engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.

  • Extensive experience with process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, and advanced knowledge of process design principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex industrial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (ASME, API, OSHA).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Greenville, SC.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • 15+ years of experience, with significant experience in leadership roles.

  • Extensive experience with chemical process design and optimization.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

  • Previous experience in a consulting or engineering services firm.

Compensation for this position is hourly ($62-89) based on experience, background, and skills.
