Are you passionate about the environment? We are growing and hiring environmental professionals in our Greenville-Spartanburg office! We are searching for an accomplished, Environmental Department Manager , to coach and lead a collaborative team that works on many unique exciting projects. These projects include environmental site assessments, remediation, redevelopment, and site renovation work for City and County agencies, school districts, commercial real property developers and managers, law firms, financial institutions, architect/engineer and construction (A/E/C) clients. This position is for a career minded environmental management professional who will be responsible for managing a department of 5 to 8 personnel, planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating site testing, developing analytical testing plans, and making recommendations for design on projects varying in size and complexity. In this position the candidate must have strong leadership/ management skills as well as be able to identify, evaluate and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Management experience is a must as the candidate will lead the department by utilizing a formal growth plan, promoting training, and assigning and coordinating staff workload.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
Conducting client development activities and work with our team to develop a book of business in traditional environmental services for Greenville-Spartanburg and surrounding areas.
Provide excellent client customer service.
Provide environmental support to multiple services lines including industrial hygiene, geotechnical services, construction and building materials, and facilities.
Work as a team member and participate with business development staff, senior environmental staff, and management on large, complex projects and pursuits.
Possess strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Understand and implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
Ability to make recommendations for conceptual designs based on technical data.
Ability to develop written proposals to clients for both small and large projects.
Experienced in evaluating, and synthesizing complex laboratory and field data, and assembly in written reports.
Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection with ability to collect detailed site observations and notes.
Mentor, supervise, and oversee staff environmental scientists and technicians.
Demonstrate a commitment to follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects for incident and injury free operations.
Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 8+ years’ related experience.
Experience with client development activities.
Strong leadership skills.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Possess strong writing skills.
