THIEL COLLEGE Administrative Assistant to Faculty in Greenville, Pennsylvania

Thiel College is seeking a full-time, 12-month Administrative Assistant within Academic Affairs to provide administrative support to the Faculty.  

Education and Experience:  Candidates with a bachelor's degree is preferred, but candidates with an associate degree or higher and at least two years of relevant clerical experience will be considered.

Essential Job Functions: • Perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative functions including keeping and transcribing minutes at committee and faculty meetings, making copies, ordering office supplies, and troubleshooting general office equipment for members of the faculty. • Maintain records and receipts related to purchases for academic departments or general supplies. • Making travel arrangements for faculty and assisting with event planning and management of departmental programing.  

Supervision:                            Supervises some student workers and/or provides functional guidance to support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.

Knowledge Skill and Abilities: Knowledge of: • Efficient office procedures and current technology. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Skilled in: • Interpersonal and written communication. • Exercising discretion and independent judgment. • Using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Ability to: • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail. • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative, and independence. • Work with confidential and sensitive information.

Working Conditions: Standard office hours are 8 AM -5 PM or 7 AM -- 4 PM with a one-hour lunch (Monday through Friday) in a general office and campus environment.  Attend scheduled faculty meetings monthly which may last until 6pm.  

 

Safety/Training Requirements:   Continuing education for topics relevant to the field. Periodic training on topics of nondiscrimination, prevention of harassment, prevention of sexual misconduct, and other topics as required. General safety training and ergonomics training relevant to an office environment.
