Decatur County Memorial Hospital PATIENT ACCOUNT REP in Greensburg, Indiana

  • POSITION SUMMARY

  • Reports To:

  • Director, Patient Accounts

  • Summary:

  • Process patient accounts through assigned payers-per payer requirements- until they become patient's responsibility. Utilize computer software systems necessary to process all claims, electronic and paper. Participates and assimilates all education/ compliance materials and opportunities for the goal of continuous improvement and compliance.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Six months to one year related experience

  • Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

  • Other Requirements

  • Ability to deal with upset patients and uncooperative people. Knowledge of laws, regulations and requirements for various carriers. This position requires constant sitting and frequent use of hands and fingers.
