About Us: Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. is dedicated to providing exceptional services to support various humanitarian efforts. We are currently seeking a passionate and bilingual youth care worker to join our team in Greensboro, NC, working with undocumented children who have crossed the southern border. This position is crucial in ensuring these children's safety and emotional well-being as they navigate their new environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Must pass Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect check, criminal background checks, and pre-employment drug testing.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and telephone.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Ability to communicate with and advocate on behalf of residents to ensure they receive all necessary services.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel and client identities, records, and information.

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Must be able to obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification.

  • Demonstrate basic computer literacy and writing skills.

  • All Youth Care Workers participate in mandatory training. Must be able to attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.

  • Prefer experience working in a residential setting or with vulnerable adolescents.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily supervision of youth, ensuring their safety, security, and well-being at all times.

  • Assist in meeting all the needs of the youth, including physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects.

  • Supervise and communicate with youth in a non-judgmental, caring but firm manner.

  • Implement the daily program schedule and organize activities with youth throughout scheduled shifts.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all youth identities, records, and information.

  • Act as a Mandatory Reporter of suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law.

  • Maintain professional boundaries with youth and ensure healthy staff-to-client working relationships.

  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with supervisor, co-workers, youth, family members, placing agency staff, and referral agency staff.

  • Manage crisis situations professionally and follow agency policies and procedures related to emergencies.

  • Supervise family visits and other contact as assigned.

  • Assist in admittance and discharge procedures of youth.

  • Maintain complete and accurate records, incident reports, daily logs, and read assigned logs daily.

  • Answer and log all telephone calls in a professional manner.

  • Ensure bedroom checks, self-harm checks, drug tests, etc., are completed per program procedures.

  • Educate youth on emergency safety procedures, including fire and tornado drills.

  • Maintain the facility's cleanliness and order with the help of the youth.

  • Be present and punctual for all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, and remain awake and alert at all times.

  • Serve as a resource person and take on-call duties when designated by a supervisor.

  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Willingly assist in all other duties as assigned.
