What you will do

The Vice President, Parts Sales is responsible for achieving the financial objectives for Mack/Volvo parts sales within North America. The position holder will be responsible to drive vision, organizational and business development, selling skills and sales process of the Parts Directors and their District and Fleet Parts Managers.

This role collaborates with Aftermarket management teams to drive new business opportunities and grow relationships with C-Suite executives at dealers and customers. As teamwork is imperative, the Vice President, Parts Sales cooperates with all GTNA stakeholders including Mack/Volvo new truck sales, Purchasing, Service Market Logistics, and Global Aftermarket to ensure the right mix of features, positioning and price.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Overall responsibility to lead activities that grow sales and profitability within North America.

• Responsible for creating the annual strategic and business plans as well as ensuring weekly and monthly activity planning to ensure the sales team is engaging high priority accounts and pipeline activities.

• Responsible for coaching the director team on best practices in performance management and people development as well as key account and territory management.

• Responsible for executing sales plan using competitive analysis, strategies and tactics.

• Responsible for designing and distributing executive daily and monthly reporting of sales results, pipeline status, sales activity that communicates sales excellence to internal stakeholders.

• Responsible for leading the effort to drive competitiveness of offer, terms, customer service and all commercial elements by collecting information and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

• Ensure the sales team is fully engaged in selling activities and is adept at transferring support activities to the appropriate supporting organizations.

• Coach and train team to develop, grow and optimize dealer and fleet business relationships at the most senior levels of our stakeholders, most important business owners and C-Suite executives.

• Manages North American-wide sales pipeline to ensure we have substantial qualified leads for sales.

• Collaborate with Parts pricing and marketing teams on product(s) pricing, positioning and definition building skills to develop proprietary, all makes, private label, used and remanufactured product.

• Develop the sales team to sell the bundled value of doing business with Mack and Volvo utilizing all of the tools and services we offer beyond the part including e-commerce, prospecting tools and finance. Leverage these tools to enable the dealer to optimize retail selling efforts.

• Be responsible for optimizing our sales pipeline and daily activity reports in salesforce.com. Leverage analysis of the data to supply information to product management team.

• Collaborate closely with marketing team to ensure use of appropriate collateral, sales, educational and merchandising materials.

• Ensure a consistent, fair and situational management style exists throughout the department.

• Make certain to drive a growth mind set, diversity, and career development opportunities within the teams.

• Assist product management team in the development of effective channel marketing and including: training and education, promotions, distributor and reseller relations.

• Collaborate with PR/Communications teams to ensure the proper amount and type of coverage to raise awareness and ensure consistent corporate and product branding and image.

• Help manage supplier and third-party relationships when applicable.

• Lead Dealer Parts Sub-Council activities collaborating with Dealer members.

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, MBA preferred.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• 10+ years’ experience in commercial vehicles industry or related business.

• Previous sales, marketing and brand management experience preferred.

• Proven experience in managing a field sales team and delivering results.

• 5 + years’ experience leading a sales team with a defined sales process coupled with CRM adoption.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to travel extensively (70% travel) or 12-14 days per month spent meeting with customers and dealers with focus on sales leadership coaching of Regional Parts Directors.
