If so, we are seeking a strong technical Senior Project Manager to join our team based in Greensboro, NC!

Our team, Vehicle Strategy & Integration, is a part of the Vehicle Engineering function for Volvo Group Trucks Technology North America. Vehicle Engineering is responsible for the integration and development of technologies into a complete truck for all brands within the Volvo Group. As a part of the Product and Project Strategy office within the function, you will play a proactive and autonomous role in leading a team including electrical, chassis, complete vehicle, product development and integration to deliver a strategic project for Mack and Volvo Trucks.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be a key player in the most extensive vehicle/driveline projects for the future of Volvo & Mack Trucks. You will work in close cooperation with a variety of stakeholders and solution providers to ensure the technical delivery is on target according to the project pre-requisites. We work in an Agile environment and are in the process of transitioning from Project to Product Streams. You will follow the agile methodology and will manage new technology implementation into the chassis product streams.

As a leader within the group, you will be the focal interface from Vehicle Engineering to our cross-commodity stakeholders, including marketing, operations, purchasing, legal etc. You will have a vast opportunity for networking and growing in a technical and management arena. You will also present and influence decisions at upper levels of management. You will do all of this while driving continuous improvement, developing people, and influencing team spirit with courage and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development work of cross functionally anchored technical solution

  • Appropriate application of development processes and best practices

  • Lead the product QDCF for Vehicle Engineering and the technical deliveries within that product

  • Optimize and consolidate the overall technical development cost and product cost.

  • Establish project time plans covering all activities needed to ensure fully verified and validated components, systems, and functions.

  • Manage Vehicle Engineering project team and present in Vehicle Technical meetings

  • Take an active role in developing future ways of working in projects

Who are you?

You are a team player with the ability to interact through a broad network locally, as well as globally. You have the skills to transfer high level prerequisites into project requirements and deliverables - as well as being comfortable to communicate and report project QDCF in reference groups and management teams. You can prioritize and focus the project on the main areas contributing to delivering the technical solution. You place a strong value on clear, consistent communication as well as customer satisfaction. You are a trusted leader who inspires collaboration and action!

In this role, you will bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred

• 8-12+ years of related technical experience in transport industry

• Experience with electromobility preferred

• Experience with Agile methodology preferred
