Actalent Power Distribution Designer Drafter in Greensboro, North Carolina

Job Title: Power Distribution Designer DrafterJob Description

We have a current opening for an Engineering Technologist to support major distribution projects across North Carolina. Our team is currently upgrading the distribution infrastructure in NC. This work includes retrofitting transformers, replacing deteriorating cables, moving overhead lines underground, reconductoring existing distribution lines, and replacing aging poles. You will take field notes back to the office and design them in BOUD according to our standards. BOUD is similar to MicroStation. You will also create bills of materials. Additionally, you will prepare project and job packages using Expert Designer and WMIS, including material estimates and requisitions for the materials required for the prepared distribution electrical designs. All designs will be in 2D.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Work is performed at our Greensboro, NC office. We are flexible, after training, with employees working from home. The rule of thumb is, employees don't have to be in the office 5 days/week, but we want to see them more than once a week. We aim to maintain a team environment while still giving employees the flexibility to work from home.
