job summary:
A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the development and integration of technical solutions for chassis components and systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards, regulatory compliance.

responsibilities:
Take charge of chassis equipment function areas, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Manage the design process from concept to production, including support for verification and validation.
Complete drawings, engineering change releases, and packaging verification, focusing on expertise and accuracy.
Support design for manufacturing (DFM) and quality tools related to assigned functions.
Collaborate with analysis groups (FEA, CFD) to validate designs and solve problems cost-effectively.
Assist in testing activities and prototype procurement, develop accelerated endurance testing plans.
Work with suppliers on sourcing, tooling, quality issues, and engineering change requests.
Provide engineering support for prototypes, pilot builds, and resolve issues from audits.
Skills:
strong CAD experience, specifically with CREO-AVP, and applied knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge of class 8 heavy-duty trucks or heavy equipment OEM experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with product development lifecycle and manufacturing processes.
Experience working in an Agile environment, preferably with exposure to product owner or scrum master roles.
Demonstrates self-awareness, self-drive, positive attitude, global perspective, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset.
Previous experience with a company or equivalent OEM is beneficial.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in product development in the transportation industry or equivalent.
