North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Grant Administrator in Greensboro, North Carolina

The Grant Administrator is a professional position within the College of Engineering. The position will report directly to the dean. The primary purpose of the Grants Administrator position is to act as the cornerstone for managing and overseeing grant-related activities within the College, ensuring both the acquisition and effective utilization of grant funds in support of the organization’s strategic objectives.

The Grants Administrator is responsible for overseeing financial and programmatic management, guaranteeing compliance with the grantors’ guidelines and regulations.

This includes monitoring budgets, adjusting financial plans as needed, and ensuring the timely submission of financial and progress reports.

A critical aspect of the role involves ensuring adherence to all grant compliance requirements by staying abreast of grantor policies, implementing effective internal controls for monitoring compliance, and managing all required reporting and documentation with precision and timeliness.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

North Carolina A & T State University is a public high research activity land grant university that enrolls over 13,487 students.

The College of Engineering, with over 2,324 students, has ABET accredited B.S. programs in Architectural, Bioengineering, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, and Mechanical Engineering; and a B.S. program in Computer Science accredited by the CAC Accreditation Commission of ABET ( http://www.abet.org).

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or relatedbusiness area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degreesmust be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.

  • Knowledge of computers including the use of e-mail, e-mail attachments, internet, and electronic research administration including submission portals such as grants.gov and NSF Fastlane Knowledge of federal, state, and university grant programs that support research, instruction and public service across disciplines and their submission process.

  • Working knowledge of Electronic Research Administration Systems.

  • Experience developing and/or writing research grant proposals in technical or higher education environments for submission to large state/federal agencies and/or business to-business proposals.

  • Proficiency with Banner, university financial systems, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat, and web browsers.

  • Evidence of grant budgeting preparation.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including technical knowledge, grammar, and format.

  • Excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Highly detail-oriented.

  • Ability to develop new approaches, methods or techniques to resolve problems.

  • Ability to learn and explain technical information clearly, concisely, and accurately.

  • Excellent organization skills, including the ability to manage a large variety of tasks and set priorities; able to work under tight deadlines.

  • Certified Research Administration certification training and/or certification credential(s).

    This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
