T.A. Loving Company Building Assistant Superintendent in Greensboro, North Carolina
Description/Job Summary
Assist the project team in managing site operations, ensuring project safety, quality, and production goals, objectives, and contractual requirements are achieved on time and under budget. Coordinate with subcontractors/trade partners to ensure adherence to T. A. Loving policies, procedures, site specific safety plan, etc.
Responsibilities/Duties
Safety & Risk Management
Assist in the completion of and complete daily reports as necessary.
Complete Project Risk Assessment to fully understand health and safety hazards, labor shortages, productivity issues, subcontractor defaults/claims, quality control, etc., and mitigate all associated risks and negative impacts.
Attend/conduct weekly safety meetings and talk with the project team and subcontractors about safety, including site-specific Exhibit F safety training for all onsite personnel.
Monitor compliance of all safety policies and procedures.
Abide by the Company's Fleet Driving Policy.
Quality
Inspect work daily, ensuring quality meets or exceeds contract requirements; photo document the project's progress using available resources.
Make recommendations to the project team/subcontractors/trade partners on necessary quality improvements.
Assist Superintendent in developing and implementing a project specific quality control program.
Facilitate site walks with inspectors, designers, and engineers; manage field reports and track deficiencies in need of resolution.
Production
Assist Superintendent and Senior Superintendent with project schedule development based on work type, crews, equipment, and subcontractors needed.
Assist Superintendent and project team with properly completing and/or updating the project schedule.
Create a daily plan after studying project specifications and plans to achieve completion on time.
Coordinate daily project team activities to meet scheduling expectations.
Work with project team to track material, equipment, and project milestones.
Assist project team in reviewing subcontractor pay requests for work in place.
Develop a punch list, site observations, and quality control inspections.
Timely development and distribution of Requests For Information (RFI) and field correspondence.
Leadership
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.
Direct and train interns and project engineers, ensuring continued development.
Anticipate and solve problems with a positive mindset and focus on solutions.
Encourage and expect honesty and openness from yourself and the project team.
Hold yourself and the team to uncompromising standards, personally and professionally.
Required Qualifications
Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED plus three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training
OSHA 10 required
Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
Ability to track and properly document progress
Experience with or ability and willingness to learn Microsoft Office, Procore, Vista, and other project management software as required by each project
Team-focused
Strong presentation skills or the willingness to develop presentation skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skilled
Skilled in schedule management, problem-solving, and communication
Safe work or No work mindset; fully committed to safety and jobsite standards, policies, and processes
