The Health Services Management program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure track Assistant professor position. The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching, conducting research, and providing service to the health services management program, college, university, and the profession. The successful candidate is expected to teach (both in the face-to-face format and online) and develop courses in any or combination of the fields of health services management, health systems, health information management, healthcare organization management and leadership, health economics, machine learning, data analytics, health disparities and or health equity. The faculty member will also advise, mentor and guide students in preparation for graduate school or the workforce. The individual will conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and disseminate the research through other means including presenting at conferences.

The College of Health and Human Sciences offers programs in Health Services Management, Health Communications, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. Faculty also engage in scholarly and service activities at the department, school, college, university, and community levels, and within professional organizations. The Health Services Management program is a supportive community of committed faculty and practitioners whose goals are to introduce students to the ideas and concepts relevant to the discipline, encourage interdisciplinary learning, prepare students for graduate schools, and to prepare students for careers in healthcare leadership and administration, and train students to conduct both basic and applied research. These goals are reached through quality classroom instruction, internship opportunities and individualized research projects. The program is seeking candidates to join a growing program.
Requirements:
· The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate or relevant terminal degree in health services management, public health, or related area.
· Established record, experience or demonstrated potential to excel in teaching both in the face to face or distance formats.
· Ability to mentor and engage students through inclusive and active teaching methods.
· Experience or willingness to collaborate across disciplines, departments, colleges and with the community and industry.
· Willingness and potential to secure external research funding.
· Ability to partner with business, community, and other UNC system institutions.
