GREENFIELD Director of Finance and Operations The Director of Finance & Operations reports directly to the Principal/Head of School and provides for the comprehensive and efficient management of the fiscal, human resources, and facilities affairs of the school. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Play a leadership role in the development and implementation of effective strategic, financial and human resources planning and information Provide comptroller functions to ensure finances are managed in accordance with DESE and charter regulations, policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles. Manage and coordinate human resources and administrative functions including personnel and benefit administration, and payroll. Performs, Coordinates or Oversees other administrative functions and non-administrative tasks in support of the effective and efficient functioning of Four Rivers Charter Public School. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise any assistance provided in the conduct of the above responsibilities. Answer any and all questions and advise all the work of the Administrative Assistant, whose job is to assist with some of the above responsibilities and also some not listed. Supervise Director of Technology - Meet with Director of Technology regularly to keep informed of day-to-day activities. Help prioritize and identify areas for project type work. Assist with communications to staff. Supervise Facilities Manager: Meet with Facilities Manager regularly to keep informed of day-to-day activities and prioritizing work. Develop a work plan with the Facilities Manager. Assist with communications to staff as needed. PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Minimal physical effort required in performing duties under typical office conditions. Ability to operate a PC, keyboard and calculator at efficient speed and view computer screens for extended periods of time. Ability to sit, talk, hear, listen, stand, and walk. Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects weighing as much as 10 or more pounds on a frequent basis; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently. Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance. Understand how to manage stress. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education The DFO must have a proficient knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, computerized accounting programs, accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparation of financial statements and reports, administration of employee benefits, payroll systems, wage and salary system design and administration, strategic planning, budgeting, benchmarking, and public and non-profit board functioning.
