About the position:
Our Accounting and Finance team in Greene, New York is seeking an accountant for the team responsible for our National Accounts subsidiary. The Accountant – National Accounts will perform accounting/finance activities, in accordance with standard procedures for inventory, general accounting, and other related areas. This position provides the opportunity for growth and career advancement, with on-site training and development provided.
In this position, you will play a role in the success of the National Accounts Finance Department. As part of this role, you will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing standard and non-standard journal entries, and compiling various reports. This role also includes analyzing and reviewing inventory transactions and variances. You will work collaboratively with multiple functional areas to solve problems and achieve organizational goals, while identifying opportunities to improve processes.
You will:
- Play an integral role in monthly closing activities, including preparing inventory and sales reports and standard and non-standard journal entries.
- Create and maintain standard costing of inventory items in accordance with accounting policies.
- Support the physical inventory and cycle counting programs.
- Develop, improve, and maintain standard work documents for the department. Employs TPS concepts to reduce defects and improve process efficiencies.
- Work with internal departments and outside companies/dealers to resolve issues with billing and statements.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem solve by helping support department members with non-standard issues that arise. This could include, but is not limited to, inventory part issues, invoicing and receiving issues, and general accounting support.
- Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned.
About the schedule:

About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Some related experience is preferred
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail when inputting and verifying data to ensure accurate records
- Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and dependability while working in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical abilities, organization, and computer skills
- Excellent Excel skills and previous SAP experience preferred
About the total compensation package:
Salary - $60,400 - $72,300 depending on selected candidates education and experience Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
