HPC Industrial Director Health and Safety in Greenbrier, Tennessee

Clean Harbors is looking for a Director of Health and Safety – Gulf Region to join our safety conscious team! The Director will be responsible for managing a multiple number of Health and Safety professionals/paraprofessionals who conduct the day-to-day safety and industrial hygiene programs at assigned location(s) and offices, including serving as senior mentors and technical experts to staff, working closely with senior management to evaluate health and safety risks, and developing safety and health programs to continuously improve safety performance.

  • Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork.

  • Manage employee safety training programs and coordination.

  • JLA’s (job loss analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations.

  • Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting.

  • Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance.

  • Establish relationships with client safety department.

  • Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments.

  • Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues.

  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; Recommends corrective actions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards.

  • TWIC Card or ability to qualify for TWIC Card a must.

  • Strong knowledge of regulations .

  • Ability to travel 10%.
