JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: Commercial Construction Traveling Superintendent Position Title: Commercial Construction Traveling Superintendent Department: Construction/Project Management Type: DIRECT HIRE Location: Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: Based on Experience Job Overview: The Commercial Construction Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of construction projects across multiple locations. This includes managing the day-to-day operations, supervising subcontractors and site staff, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety regulations, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has significant experience in commercial construction management, a strong understanding of construction processes, and is comfortable with extensive travel. Key Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure they are performed safely, on schedule, and according to the project\'s specifications. Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure work is performed to the required quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and project alignment. Oversee the scheduling and delivery of materials, equipment, and labor to ensure smooth operations on site. Team Management: Manage and lead on-site construction crews, including subcontractors and laborers, to ensure productivity and quality. Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors and team members to discuss progress, address issues, and provide direction. Ensure that subcontractors follow the project schedule, and manage any necessary adjustments to meet deadlines. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors and site staff to ensure compliance with project specifications and building codes. Perform inspections throughout the construction process to identify and correct any defects or deficiencies. Ensure that all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. Safety Management: Enforce safety standards and practices on all job sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections to ensure a safe working environment. Address and resolve any safety concerns or incidents immediately. Travel and Site Setup: Travel to various job sites across multiple locations to oversee and manage construction projects. Set up job sites by ensuring proper site utilities, equipment, and site offices are in place for the start of construction. Provide on-site leadership to handle unexpected challenges or changes in site conditions, adjusting plans as necessary. Communication and Reporting: Maintain daily logs of construction activities, including progress reports, issues encountered, and project milestones. Communicate regularly with the project manager to provide updates on project progress, potential delays, and material or labor needs. Address client concerns or questions related to project timelines, site conditions, or quality control. Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project budgets by managing site-related expenses, such as labor, materials, and equipment costs. Work with the project manager to ensure that any potential cost overruns are identified and mitigated early. Approve timecards and expense reports for site personnel and ensure accurate records for payroll. Qualifications and Skills: Experience: o Experience as a superintendent in commercial construction, with a strong track record of managing multiple projects. o Experience working on various commercial construction projects, such as office buildings, retail spaces, hospitality, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
