JBS USA QA/FOOD SAFETY ASSISTANT in Greeley, Colorado

Purpose & Scope: The focus of this role is on the technical services side of the Consumer Value Added business, specifically assisting in the management of product labeling, finished good specifications, plant product quality audits, cook validations and product sample shipment and inventory maintenance. The role will work with marketing, sales, product development, packaging and commercialization cross functional team members on a regular basis

Responsibilities:

  • Creating specifications in SAP using content from cross functional team members

  • Assisting with product label creation including completing cook validations on all new products

  • Manage sample requests for sales teams including maintaining inventory and shipping samples

  • Various data entry for tracking product quality reports for production facilities, creating shelf life reports and other as needed

  • Communicating with plants as it relates to specification release, quality reviews, sample requests and ingredient reviews

  • Assist with SOP writing

  • Assist in compiling data and information for customer requests

  • Learn various systems and how they interact with plant systems

  • Any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, Food Science, Meat Science or comparable science and some technical services/quality assurance, food safety, auditing, or production experience highly desired OR

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of technical services/quality assurance, food safety, auditing, or production experience

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing highly desired

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required

  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new computer systems

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  • Base salary range of $20.00 - $24.00 per hour;
