Production Scheduler

Purpose and Scope/General Summary : The Production Scheduler role manages production schedules to meet order fill rate and on-time delivery metrics based on sales forecasts, customer demands, production lead-times, and raw material availability. This cross-functional position will support branded and non-branded value-added pork, beef and chicken products that are packaged to be sold in Retail/Club, National and Industrial channels.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and revise production plans for internal and co-pack facilities detailing amount and what products to be produced to ensure sales orders are fulfilled

• Optimize contracting and arrange inbound logistics of raw materials through just-in-time methodology to ensure adequate raw inventory, packaging, and ingredient components

• Plan, prioritize and coordinate between sales, operations, transportation, and plant teams to ensure maximum production performance and minimum delay

• Proactively communicate relevant status updates, and quickly respond to changes in customer orders, raw availability and/or product requirements

• Be knowledgeable in market updates to influence margin management

• Continuous development & improvements of supply chain processes and workflows across all cross- functional areas

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related fields is preferred.

• 2 years of experience in the industry preferred.

• Organized, have acute attention to details and strong problem-solving skills

• Be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, work independently and ask questions

• Exhibit an ownership and entrepreneurial mindset that facilitates growth, and flexibility to adapt change

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the production planning process

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel preferred

• Knowledge in Order Management, ECS, Qlik, Quintiq, and Shop Floor preferred

• As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :

• Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

• Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

• Base salary range of $60,000-$70,000; and

• Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
