Job Description Summary Weld County is hiring for an Application Analyst position! The selected person will work as part of a team to meet with business users to understand their needs, and have responsibilities maintaining applications (writing code, updating software, improving web interfaces, building workflows) to improve the overall platform.

Under general supervision analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated solutions. The Application Analyst will provide expert competency to drive the alignment of the business of the county departments and the applications and technology. The incumbent will carry out and participate in gathering business needs, problem analysis, and system design in preparation of development of the programs. Analyze, configure and/or develop, and modify software application programs of a high degree of complexity and scope. Designs, configures and/or codes, tests, debugs and documents the application programs. Formulates and defines applications scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business applications and industry requirements. Independently identifies issues and designs/implements solutions. Recommends strategic platform improvements and associated budgetary impacts. This position will have two primary operation focus areas. The first area will be in enterprise application maintenance, including the support of servers, enterprise software, and endpoint function related to the operation of the server software. The second focus will be on implementing and maintaining Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including

implementation, operational monitoring, and support for firmware updates.

Job Description Technical - 25%:

Technical responsibilities include providing technical knowledge and assistance to the business unit on applications, works with vendors to understand and ensure technical requirements of application are being met, works with Technical Operations to ensure appropriate environments are set up, installs business applications on servers, and works with Technical Support to test their installation of the business applications. . Keep abreast of technical changes/developments within applications supported. Functional - 25%:

Functional responsibilities include consulting with business partners to identify and document application needs and project requirements, make recommendations on solution options, create RFP s, tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications, and develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and user acceptance testing. Planning - 25%:

Assists in the development of the project plans for relevant projects, monitors, researches, resolves and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests, prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects. As a senior member of the team, mentors other Application Analysts and provides guidance on their planning and management responsibilities. Through effective verbal and written communication, provide guidance and direction to business partners and colleagues for all projects and tasks to ensure smooth execution. Support - 25%:

Provided timely ongoing functional and technical support of relevant applications and communicating appropriately with business partners and IT Management on status of projects and tasks as well as outages, issues, etc. Responsibilities include responding to tickets in a timely fashion and keeping their status up to date in the ticketing system, maintaining application uptime for the business during non-outage windows, creating and keeping appropriate documentation up to date including Application Documentation, providing validation of relevant applications when

infrastructure effort are completed (s.a., patching, etc.).

Required Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Required Experience: 6 years related experience in software application development, programming and analysis. Functional experience supporting enterprise applications required. Technical experience configuring, developing within the toolsets of enterprise applications required Technical experience deploying and supporting enterprise applications required.

This position is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore ineligible for overtime pay.
