St. George's University Full Stack .NET Developer in Great River, New York

Full Stack .NET Developer

All University Support Services employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All employees must demonstrate proof of full vaccination (two weeks after all required doses have been received).

Location: The Full Stack .NET Developer has the flexibility to be a hybrid role in the Great River, New York office. For candidates residing outside of the tri-state area, there is flexibility with it being a fully remote opportunity with required travel into the New York office as needed.

The Full Stack .NET Developer will assist in developing and maintaining custom and third-party web applications and services to support the business needs of the University. This work includes designing, building, and implementing web applications - independently and as part of a team; maintaining and improving existing applications; providing quality assurance; and performing day-to-day related tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, modify, enhance, document, and maintain a variety of complex web applications and software applications that automate business processes and improve efficiencies for departments across the institution

  • Test and debug applications and services. Maintain databases and data integrations

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with existing web applications

  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and prepare documentation of program requirements and specifications for existing and future applications

  • Write and modify code in programming languages such as ASP.NET, VB.NET, PowerShell, C#, F#, and other programming languages applicable for project at hand

  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data from application databases

  • Troubleshoot, debug code, and correct errors in software applications

  • Collaborate with leaders to collect software requirements and understand business processes

  • Create design documents for review, such as mockup diagrams and flowcharts. Alters designs for programs, program modifications, or applications to meet end-user requirements

  • Test programs or applications to find software bugs (errors or other defects) and verify that the program or application is fit for use

  • Develop user acceptance test cases, secures approval of test results, and discusses problems or concerns

  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to users to ensure the success of custom software applications

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in applying solutions to problems through the design and development of computer programs, software, and applications

  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and customer service orientation

  • Demonstrated experience in software development & maintenance

  • Demonstrated experience software requirements & design, testing and deployment

  • Demonstrated experience with Visual Studio IDE, ASP.Net Forms & MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Reporting Services, Development Libraries & API's, front-end frameworks, and Microsoft TFS version control software

    Hours and Travel

  • A typical work week is Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm

  • Flexible hours required to implement strategy, enterprise initiatives and execute deliverables

  • Must be flexible in coming in early, working late or during non-work hours as needed

  • For remote employees, travel required to onsite office at minimum, monthly.

    Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar technical degree or equivalent experience

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in software applications development

  • Working knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, OOP, .NET Web API

  • Working knowledge of Front-end web technologies and frameworks: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, etc.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

  • Windows server management experience
