PURPOSE AND ROLE:

The Process Engineer II is responsible for providing technical and daily refinery operations support, as well as troubleshooting refinery processes. This position recommends, develops, and implements improvements to streamline and advance refinery practices.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily process monitoring and troubleshooting of the refinery processes.
  • Manage medium to large projects and provide engineering design.
  • Optimize daily unit operations, which includes monitoring operating costs, product yields, catalyst activity, chemical usage, and energy utilization.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement processes and/or projects aimed at improving unit yields or energy utilization.
  • Partner with Environmental, Operations, and Safety Departments during all phases of project development and execution.
  • Conduct Hazard and Operability study reviews and fulfill other Management of Change requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years Process Engineering experience in a refinery, petrochemical facility, or renewable fuels plant.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite
  • Responsible for decisions and approvals of projects and programs significantly affecting a department/ division of the Company.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including process simulation and economics.
  • Responsible for analyzing detailed programs that require significant study and have multiple solutions.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety and compliance regulations required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including process simulation and economics
  • Effective team skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
