Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, Lifeguard Staff will serve to facilitate an excellent aquatic experience for customers at the Wetlands Waterpark by enforcing rules, enacting Emergency Action Plans (EAP), and taking care of the injured, ill, or distressed customers by using trained skills. Staff will be required to pass a Lifeguard certification course

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Aquatic Director, performs a variety of routine duties related to Patron safety and facility maintenance.

A. Observe and enforce pool rules at all times.

B. Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool environment at all times.

C. Responsible for performing necessary rescues and assisting any guests in any manner required including administering first aide, providing information, and practicing public relations.

D. Responsible for attending all in-service and staff meetings in order to keep current on policies and maintain rescue skills.

\ Qualifications:

A. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

\ B. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with governing body, city administrators, department heads, employees, and the public.

C. Make decisions quickly in order to respond to potential hazards or emergency situations.

D. Work in a team composed of other Lifeguards, Head Guards, And Managers

E. Must be 15 years old

F. Must maintain ARC lifeguard certification

F. Valid Kansas drivers license required.

Education/Experience:

Must maintain ARC Lifeguard certification.

\ Working Conditions:\ Functions will be performed in an environment that may cause exposure to sun and chemical substances such as chlorine. Work is primarily outside. Work is occasionally heavy and may involve physical activity such as lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, and involves handling, seeing, hearing, listening, and talking. Must possess an audible voice for communication and have the ability to perform a water rescue if necessary,
