Position Summary

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, is seeking an Industrial Engineer at the Aiken County PSR/LTR Plant.

The Industrial Engineering position focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., plant location, personnel work flow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.); to establish methods, processes and tools to provide production, cost and productivity controls and manufacturing management best practices that leads to manufacturing optimization.

You will need to apply practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. This position must lead projects for processes of diverse scope, while working independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.

The selected professional is expected to produce feasible solutions and proposals to provoke, facilitate and achieve improvements in productivity, including the optimum utilization of human capital resources in all manufacturing processes and areas of the incumbent’s responsibility. The selected professional is expected to not only achieve the optimum usage of resources, but to collaborate with any other required teams in charge of sustaining and continue to further looking for ways to improve it.

The selected candidate is expected to take a leading role in provoking continuous improvement through Gemba time studies and data analytics that turns into kaizen and state of the art and breakthrough technology offerings in support of maintaining a cost and productivity competitiveness of the plant assigned areas and departments in the short/mid/long term.

Responsibilities

  • Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervisionin search of productivity (optimum utilization of resources) sustainability and improvement

  • Establishes methods foroptimummaximumutilization of production facilities and personnel.

  • Stays vigilant, constantly tracks, reports, and acts to find any necessary opportunity to maintain an optimize the required level of hours usage and control of the areas under responsibility

  • Conducts cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods

  • Assists manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design

  • May assist in establishingsafety and qualityaccidentprevention measures andis expected to aidmanagemanagingproduction operations training programs for plant personnelwhenever needed

  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in database management tools is a plus, such as advanced MS software, Power BI, tableau, and experience in any programing software language.

  • Adaptability and willingness to support the operation on off shifts when in time of need is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
