About the u nit

9 Children's is a Pediatric Hematology and Oncology floor with 24 private rooms at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.  In addition, this floor cares for Blood and Marrow Transplant as well as surgical overflow patients.  Team members are drawn to 9 Childrens for the opportunity to get to know patients and families that are often in the hospital for long periods of time and return frequently due to their treatment regimens. Although we are an acute care unit, we are very specialized and care for patients that are higher acuity than most units. We pride ourselves on our teamwork and ability to make a difference for families in crisis.

Scope of work  

Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame .
