Job Description

The Technical Leader - Enterprise Data Management is responsible for promoting and implementing Rockwell Automation's (RA) strategies, solutions and capabilities associated with product data management and establish an enterprise data governance framework.

As a Tech Leader for Product Data Management, this person will partner with various stakeholders across the enterprise (business/functional leaders, enterprise architecture/data functions, commerce, and distribution channels) to plan, design, deploy, and execute solutions focusing on the lifecycle stages of product data and its syndication. Another value driven element of the role includes the support of growth via intelligent reporting on how master data quality impacts business operations. This role will lead and provide guidance to data analysts and other supporting roles, internal to RA and hired contractors with a hands-on approach aimed at actively coaching their team to solve complex problems and remove roadblocks.

As a Tech Leader for Data Governance, the person will also have responsibility for establishing data governance framework globally. The person will lead and manage all organization-wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs. The person serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

In this role you will: Collaborate regularly with business, technical, and external stakeholders on a broad array of product data projects and initiatives. Conduct discovery analysis of business and user requirements, including leading workshop(s) targeted at developing functional, technical, and architectural needs. Share responsibility with Product Owner(s) for building reusable and scalable components related to PDM. Play role in strategy, working with EA to introduce new technologies and processes. Serve as the subject matter expert for data architecture and data integration on topics related to PDM. Design and deliver data governance initiatives and process related to compliance and controllership around PDM with an eye on continuous process improvement. Build consensus and resolve conflicts related to assigned workflows and initiatives. Define and manage the structure of products with variants, taxonomy, and categories.
