Corewell Health Physician - Behavioral Pediatrics (HDVCH) in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, located in beautiful Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking to add a full-time behavioral pediatrician to their flagship, multidisciplinary autism evaluation program. The ideal candidate is an experienced, board certified pediatrician with a strong interest in autism evaluations, behavioral medicine, and building long term relationships with patients and families. A fellowship in developmental-behavioral pediatrics is not required.
Select Features of this Program and Position:
Participate in Autism Assessment Clinic, which includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, speech language therapists, and social workers to conduct robust evaluations for children who have concerns for an ASD diagnosis (two hour visits per child)
Extended pediatric behavioral medicine 90-minute new patient evaluations and 30-minute follow up visits
Work closely with a full team of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Pediatric Psychologists, and Psychotherapists

Essential Functions
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate.
Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree
LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
