Job Summary

Under the direction of a Pharmacist, provides technical assistance, processing and preparing medications and supplies. Works with multiple medication automation systems. Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas. Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. Able to work in complex pharmacy areas (satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, inventory management).

$3,500 Sign-On Bonus

Essential Functions

  • Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.

  • Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.

  • Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.

  • Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.

  • Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate's Degree preferred.

  • Hospital experience preferred.

  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required.

  • CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or

  • CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required.

  • Ideal candidates will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and National Pharmacy Technician Certification

  • IV Experience highly preferred at this time

  • We are currently hiring for the following 3 Shifts (all are 8-Hr. Shifts):

  • Rotating Shift (Primarily on 1st, but also rotating through 2nd Shift. You will know your schedule 4-6 weeks in advance.)

  • Straight 2nd Shift (Starting as early as 2:30 p.m. or after.)

  • Night Shift (7 Days On and 7 Days Off-8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

  • These are On-Site Positions.

  • $3,500 Sign-On Bonus
