Description:
This person applies knowledge of: the variety and uses of purchasable drug presentations, the processes to purchase and account for drug purchases, 340B "split billing" software and maintenance of critical data elements in that software, and principles of auditing and data integrity for all 340B program related data and data sources.
Position Purpose:
The 340B Program Buyer provides analytical support to and assistance with program compliance for the Trinity Health Grand Rapids 340B program.
Expected Weekly Hours: 40
Shift: Day Shift
The shift hours will be 8:30am or 9am
Position Responsibilities:
Utilizing split-billing software (such as Macro Helix), including analysis of BUPP and program accumulators
Performing 340B audits to ensure Program compliance
Analyzing purchasing data in relation to 340b usage eligibility
Purchasing pharmaceutical products for retail and hospital pharmacy programs
Rotational coverage for hospital pharmacy buyers
Collaborate with TPAs, drug suppliers and pharmacy staff
Analysis of CDM / NDC crosswalk to ensure utilization and accumulator accuracy
Monthly report preparation for the Accounting and Finance departments
Analyze accumulations for program savings opportunities
This position is part of a small team, currently 5 people. Coverage for Hospital Pharmacy Buyers requires maintenance of competencies for the hospital pharmacy buyer role.
Position Qualifications:
Pharmacy Technician license required; Pharmacy Technician certification ( CPhT ) preferred
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
7 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred, retail or hospital, 4 years required
3 years of pharmaceutical purchasing experience, retail or hospital, preferred
Experience with Epic or other EMR platform preferred
340B program experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel required, Microsoft Access preferred
Wide variety of responsibilities requires strong multi-tasking skills
