Cherry Health Patient Registration Specialist in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Cherry Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a mission to improve the health and wellness of individuals by providing comprehensive primary and behavioral health care while encouraging access by those who are underserved. A desire to work with an underserved patient population will be important. Working in an integrated team model, the Patient Registration Specialist will provide excellent customer service to our patients. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position typically working Monday through Friday with hours varying from 8a to 5p. Evening hours may be required.

*Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.    *

Starting pay for this position is $15 per hour but could be more based on experience.*

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to maintain professional behavior at all times
  • Maintain and establish effective working relationships while following oral and written instructions

Responsibilities:

  • Greet, check in, and direct clients to waiting area; monitor waiting area
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Pull and file patient charts
  • Answers phones, directs calls and takes messages where appropriate
  • Scheduling and confirming patient appointments to maximize productivity
  • Collect money and bill patient accounts, monitor status of accounts and insurance information as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
