Customer Service Specialist

olPart Time Customer Service Specialist

LOCATION: Lansing Campus, Lansing Michigan*

* This position is an in person position

TARGET PAY: $12-13/hr

Reports to: Executive Campus Director

Position Summary: The Customer Service Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the campus/department staff by delivering exceptional administrative and receptionist services. This role involves managing projects, processing data, and coordinating appointments while embodying our University's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service by anticipating and exceeding the needs of our diverse community. • Perform receptionist duties and other administrative tasks as needed. • Manage and coordinate specific projects/programs, including planning, data analysis, report preparation, and recommendations. • Utilize word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software to maintain and manipulate data. • Schedule and coordinate appointments efficiently. • Handle confidential information with discretion. • Assist with various office operations and responsibilities. • Demonstrate and promote the University's cultural values and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., NCAA, GLIAC). • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department needs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; relevant college coursework or a bachelor's degree preferred. • Previous administrative experience is advantageous. • Strong organizational and technical skills with the ability to plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads. • Proven ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance. • Professional appearance and demeanor. • Competence in working with financial data and computerized systems. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and maintain confidentiality. • Highly motivated, solution-oriented, and dedicated to the University's mission. • Ability to work in a business office environment, including prolonged sitting/standing and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. • Must have own transportation for occasional travel between locations. • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings or Saturdays, as needed.
