We are a growing cutting tool manufacturer based in northwest Grand Rapids, Michigan located approximately 30 minutes from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. For over 38 years we have been manufacturing and sharpening a wide variety of cutting tools including carbide, high speed steel and carbide brazed cutting tools. In addition to our tool manufacturing, we have a machining department with CNC lathes and mills that performs low volume, tight tolerance manufacturing. Due to our continued growth and success, we are currently seeking an experienced CNC cutting tool grinder.

Expected Areas of Competence:

• Ability to learn new skills through example and Company provided training.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including basic trigonometry.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to inspect tools for defects using quality control tools.
• Ability to program and operate CNC machines
• Ability to use personal computers to enter or retrieve data (basic computers skills are required).
• Ability to prioritize personal workload to maintain company efficiencies.
• Previous experience manufacturing tools using CNC machines is a plus. 

Job Description:

• CNC machine programming and operation (ANCA and/or Walter.)
• Perform setups and offsets.
• Read blueprints.
• Inspect tools as they are completed and communicate any issues to management.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines as necessary.

Compensation is based on experience but this is a very critical position that will be compensated accordingly.
