Women's Health Collective Certified Medical Biller and Referral Coordinator in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Biller Responsibilities: This role will be a part time role. Our Biller is a medical professional who is responsible for translating health care services into medical claims to be submitted to insurance companies. They will support all aspects of the medical billing process and make necessary contacts with insurance payers or patients to ensure maximum reimbursements. Billers must also provide services that are associated with internal and external customer billing and payment processing operations.

  • Verify Eligibility for patients with upcoming appointments with "eligibility issues"
  • Process Claims
  • Obtain prior authorization when necessary
  • Process Denials/call insurance if necessary
  • Work in collaboration with WHC Certified Coder to complete billing tasks
  • Credential new providers
  • Update and adjust fee schedules as needed
  • Schedule in office procedures with patients
  • Check insurance benefits for procedures and obtain a prior authorization if necessary

Referral Coordinator Responsibilities: This role provides support to all incoming and outgoing referrals for the practice.

  • Receiving referrals from outside providers
  • Contacting all patients for initial enrollment
  • Providing 'Welcome Emails' to new patients to be able to create their Portal login
  • Verifying Insurance benefits and reviewing current balances prior to visits
  • Reviewing outgoing referrals from providers to ensure they reach the appropriate destination
  • Reviewing EMR system for special notes and alerts regarding each patient
  • Following up on outgoing referrals to be sure they have been scheduled

Patient Care Coordination Responsibilities: The Patient Care Coordinator sets the tone and atmosphere for service excellence. Their role is critical in the smooth and efficient continuity of care that our practice strives to achieve with each patient that comes through the door.

  • Being present for our patients and their needs
  • Interacting and working in collaboration with all team members for exceptional care and service.
  • Greeting patients
  • Checking them out after their visit
  • Taking copays and payments
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Patient Chart Preparation prior to visit
  • Helping keep up with Patient Centered Medical Home guidelines

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Medical Biller, 3 years experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in Patient or Customer Coordination
  • Gynecology, Primary Care and Physical Therapy experience is ideal
