Beautifully Home Support Specialist Driver/Mover

Part time/Non-Exempt

General Statement of Duties

Under the general direction of the Chief of Knowledge, the Beautifully Home Support Specialist Driver/Mover provides and coordinates supportive services aimed at enhancing the living spaces and stability of formerly homeless individuals transitioning into new homes. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the moving of furniture and household goods to eligible participants. Additionally, the BHSS Delivery Driver/Mover will be responsible for coordinating maintenance schedule of the BH company vehicles and ensuring their proper functionality.  

The principal function of an employee in this position is to perform direct service and awareness activities that promote consumer access to services and resources in accordance with the rules and regulation of the agency, funding sources and mission and philosophy. The principal duties of the BHSS are performed in a general office and warehouse environment and in the field and community where consumers live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicle to deliver household goods and services to program participants
  • Inspect delivery vehicles and ensure safety of loading and unloading process
  • Load and unload furniture and other items, ensuring proper handling and care during transport
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on company vehicles and coordinate necessary repairs or service
  • Contact participants to confirm deliver details
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and routes to optimize efficiency and meet program needs
  • Provide excellent customer service to program participants during delivery and interactions
  • Assist with documenting the value of donated goods and services contributed to the organization and project
  • Recordkeeping and clerical assistance necessary for proper documentation of all project requirements

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Promote awareness of Community Rebuilders program services with outside providers
  • Build relationships with outside service and resource providers that promote support of consumers in all Community Rebuilders programs
  • Build relationships with outside providers and seek opportunities to coordinate services and resources for consumers in all Community Rebuilders programs
  • Assist with and organize community events to raise awareness and spread information about services and needs of consumers

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • S. Diploma/GED
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Understanding of homelessness and surrounding issues
  • Prior engagement in the homeless system preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse populations
  • Understanding and Commitment to the Kent County Vision to End Homelessness
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Experience with military service providers, veteran service providers or military service preferred

     

Essential Physical duties:
