Lockheed Martin Multi Functional Manufacturing Planner Asc Mgr in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Manages the planning, scheduling, and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Represents company with carriers, negotiates claims, and selects carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Directs research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customers and industry peers at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or contracts. Coordinates with International Trade Compliance / Legal for resolution of potential Voluntary Disclosure issues. Will ensure business practices and records are in strict adherence to US Export rules and regulations. The job scope includes the management of a total staff of 12-15 employees consisting of salaried exempt/non-exempt salaried and/or represented/non-represented hourly employees in the management of shipping and traffic operations associated with Production Planning & Control. Develop the department’s organizational structure and perform strategic manpower planning. Track and manage budgets and overhead cost. Travel may be required to production sites and/or supplier locations. Work outside of the normal operating hours may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education

- Candidate must have experience in logistics to include domestic and international transportation.

- Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations as it relates to the movement of materials via common carriers to include carrier rates, service capabilities, packaging of hardware and over/short and damage claims.

- Experience in at least two of the areas of Traffic, Receiving, Transportation, PHST (packaging, handling, storage, and transportability) or Shipping.

-Demonstrated ability to work with multiple levels of Management, industry peers, and internal and external customers.

- Experience assigning/managing projects to organizational unit by leading a team of individual contributors to meet critical schedules, resolve complex and time-sensitive technical or operational issues.

- Ability to obtain a security clearance.

- Previous leadership experience.

- Experience with SAP.

Desired Skills:

- An understanding of the US Government's transportation system.

- Certified by the DOT and IATA (International Air Transport Association) for the transportation of hazardous materials.

- Domestic Transportation experience.

- Import/export experience or hold a Custom Brokers license

- US Customs Regulations Import and Export knowledge.

- Previous ITAR experience

- Experience with Schedule B / Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) classification.

- Experience with AES / ACE Electronic Export Information submittals.

- Experience with International Incoterms, exporter of record and importer of record requirements.

- SAP transactional accumen

- Bachelor’s degree in related field

- Green Belt trained / certified.

- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD).

- Knowledge of industry wide best practices and processes for managing material flow throughout the entire production supply chain.

- Experience working in a union contract environment.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
