Lockheed Martin Mechanical Design Engineer - Dallas, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: D-28 Special Analysis program has a need for a full-time experienced mechanical/aerospace engineer to perform CAD modeling and related analysis/assessment of missile weapon systems. This position will start in a collateral program area while awaiting final SAP access and will be 100% onsite.

Basic Qualifications:

Required qualifications/skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

• Highly proficient with PTC Creo and at least moderately proficient with DS Solidworks.

• Mission/results focused; can work with minimal oversight, supervision, and guidance.

• Ability to rapidly and accurately develop complex CAD models from existing hardware.

• Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP access.

Desired qualifications:

• Experience in a lab/shop environment with various hand/power tools.

• Experience assembling/disassembling complex hardware and mechanisms.

• Experience measuring hardware with both traditional metrology tools and laser-scanning techniques.

• Experience CAD modeling complex surfaces such as aircraft/missile wings, inlets, and control surfaces.

• Excellent technical writer and be able to effectively communicate complex technical-based assessments to senior leaders that may not have a technical background.

• Presentation skills; ability to effectively brief senior leaders, including flag officers, SES, and members of Congress.

• Hands-on experience with missile/aircraft propulsion, power, hydraulic, or GNC systems.

• Experience in performing weapon system configuration/capability assessments with respect to:

o Aerodynamic configuration during all flight phases

o Layout and location of internal subsystems

o Construction/fabrication techniques

o Structural limitations/maneuverabilty

o Mass properties in all configurations/flight phases

o Warhead/payload assessments

o GNC system configuration and performance/capability

o Propulsion performance and range estimates

o Materials identification and analysis for both metallic and composites

o RF/IR signatures analysis

• Language skills; ability to read/write one or more languages of strategic adversaries

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
