Position Summary:

The Gov. Cloud Product Owner for Airbus North America is responsible for all IT infrastructure, operations and end user services for the Cloud platforms located in the USA. A member of the Hosting and Infrastructure Services Product Service Line within the Infrastructure and Digital Workplace Domain. Work closely with peers on resources to complete various tasks throughout the service lifecycle of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure components. These tasks include designing, implementing and documenting cloud infrastructure components, migrating on-premises systems to cloud services, maintaining the operational effectiveness of the cloud infrastructure, and optimizing performance and capabilities applying a continual service improvement model. The main objective of these activities is to deliver value, via highly available IT Services. Following Airbus corporate IM standards, this position ensures that services deliver the highest business value, high quality of services at the best cost.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Projects and Services: 70%:

  • Work multi-functionally with other IT teams and business units to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of the cloud systems infrastructure.

  • Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud-based solutions across multiple cloud providers.

  • Assist IT management and project managers in formulating project plans that contain breakthroughs and target completion dates, allow for delivery of requirements on-schedule, and minimize impact to both business units and members.

  • Collaborate with business and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions in support of development and procurement efforts; acquire licensing and software adhering procurement processes.

  • Deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.

  • Apply a Continual Service Improvement model and leading standard methodologies to ensure that proposed and existing cloud systems remain efficient and aligned with organizational goals; recommend optimizations and improvements to achieve those goals and leverage systems to their fullest.

  • Manage hybrid directory and identity services in Microsoft Azure and on-premises ensuring consistent and seamless experiences for users

  • Leads the IT Product MFT team in order to manage the IT Product lifecycle, both developing the products and operating them to meet operational SLA's.

  • Definition and go-to-market of the product and service (line).

  • Ensures that the known Product Vision is translated into a prioritized Product Backlog in alignment with the business.

  • Establishes two-way-dialogue to translate Business Needs against known technical & resource constraints.

  • Oversight of data systems including RDBMS and Big Data systems to ensure reliability, availability and security of the data contained therein

  • Lead backup and recovery solutions to meet established RTO's and RPO's.

  • Design and conduct business continuity tests for cloud and on-premises systems following established testing schedules

  • Produce automated reports, dashboards, and metrics to aid in the monitoring of cloud systems

  • Increase access to project statuses by providing regular updates, which highlight incremental advances and overall progress towards meeting established commitments.

  • Complete problem management and request fulfillment processes in accordance with service level agreements

  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Airbus policies and procedures

  • Use cloud tools to track cloud expenditures and ensure costs stay within budgetary limits

  • Adhere to IT asset management policies and assist Information Security in monthly reconciliation efforts

  • Serve internal and external members by demonstrating technical leadership throughout the organization by delivering IT solutions in a timely and effective manner

    Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

    Education:

    Required:

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience:

    Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years with systems infrastructure planning, security principles, and general IT service management standard methodologies.

  • Minimum of 2 years)implementing and leading cloud systems on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and/or Google Cloud in a GCC High environment.

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Windows server environments.

  • Certifications in Linux, Microsoft, Cloud platforms, or other IT related fields

    Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

    Required:

  • Cloud Platform network environments.

  • Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management systems.

  • Strong organization and project management skills.

  • Effectively work in a team-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with cloud CLIs and APIs.

  • Knowledge of North America IT supplier landscape.

  • Solid understanding of VMware virtualization technologies.

  • Knowledge in the areas of ITSM, ITIL, Knowledge Article development and Key Performance Indicator reporting.

  • Knowledge in IM underlying technologies: LAN/WAN, IT Security and operating systems, tools related to support services, Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.

  • Knowledge of NIST guidelines such as NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-171.

  • Strong IT knowledge in Architecture and Infrastructure Solutions design and development, service management, supplier management and cyber security.

  • Experience leading vulnerability responses and plans of action and achievements (POA&Ms).

  • Experience deploying and running an Active Directory/Azure Active Directory infrastructure in a GCC High environment.

  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment.

  • Experience in working with multicultural teams.

  • Able to work closely and optimally with all levels of business and IM leadership.

  • Inspire trust, demonstrates flexibility, encourages frequent open communication and welcomes feedback.

  • Highly complex environment composed of 3 divisional entities not yet integrated and spread out across the North America region on more than 23 sites. Most of these entities have a dependency on Europe requiring a very strong and complex coordination across North America and with Europe.

    Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • Ensures stability of GovCloud platform to enable all employees subject to ITAR restrictions to complete their functions. Failure to do so would have a direct impact on military/government customer satisfaction and cause the incurring of penalties due to possible missed commitments/lack of contract performance.

    Nature of Contacts:

  • Communication with Airbus North America leadership team including CEO and to the IM employees across the region but also with external partners and service providers

    Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 90%

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
