Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar Dealership for Colorado, New Mexico, and far west Texas is seeking applications for a Human Resources Business Partner in Aurora, CO. Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: (Starting at: $71,000.00 annually) Position Summary: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a consultant to business leaders, aligning HR strategy with business needs and fosters positive employee relations. The HRBP is responsible for supporting business units by ensuring effective HR management, coaching leaders, conducting investigations, overseeing compliance, and managing HR-related data and reporting. This position reports into the HR Manager. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Ensure accurate management of all employee data through daily audits. Analyze HR data, including headcount, discipline, employee satisfaction, and turnover, to recommend solutions that improve workforce performance. Coach Managers on writing performance reviews and addressing performance gaps; conduct monthly audits of reviews and rating distributions. With guidance from the HR Manager, conduct investigations, prepare reports, and suggest corrective actions. Administer the Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing program for the entire company, partnering with other departments on post-accident testing. Conduct exit processes for all individual contributor roles and provide feedback to HR Manager. Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed. Update discipline, termination, and other HR logs daily. Partner with Recruiters to fill challenging roles and understand talent acquisition (TA) metrics. Track and submit payroll information for sign-on and referral bonuses. Address employee benefits questions and escalate complex inquiries to the Benefits Specialist. Provide the Benefits Specialist with necessary information for processing employee Leave of Absence (LOA) requests and communicate updates to Managers. Ensure HR compliance training is completed by all employees by the end of the year. Co-host monthly learning sessions with the HR Manager. Provide necessary reports and information for Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) reporting. Other tasks assigned by HR Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Required Education and Experience: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 3 or more years of HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or Generalist role. Experience in employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Additional Eligibility Requirements: SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Experience in a heavy equipment or industrial environment. Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and coaching abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. High level of professionalism and confidentiality. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Travel Requirements: Periodic travel to company locations as needed, approximately 10-25% of the time. Work Environment: Office setting with periodic visits to field locations or shop environments.
