Colorado Mesa University Assistant Professor of Psychology in Grand Junction, Colorado

Job Duties: Full-time. Tenure-Track position. Teach core and elective undergraduate psychology courses including, but not limited to, Human Growth and Development, Child Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, and APA Style of Writing for Psychology Minors. Teach courses in other areas of specialization within the psychology discipline as needed. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Courses will be taught via a combination of in-person, hybrid, and distance delivery modalities. While teaching will be the primary responsibility, advising, service to the university, profession, community, and scholarship in the discipline are expected.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Primary Education and Experience Requirements: Ph.D. in Psychology or related field (ABD may be considered); and 9 months (equiv. to 1 academic yr. or 2 academic semesters) as an Assistant Professor of Psychology; College-level Psychology Teacher or Instructor; or experience teaching undergraduate or graduate-level psychology courses.

Other Special Skills or Requirements: The position also requires 1 year (2 academic semesters) experience with basic classroom technology (such as management systems, video conferencing software, and/or Microsoft Office Programs); 1 year (2 academic semesters) teaching college-level developmental (i.e. childhood or adolescent), educational, or school psychology courses; as well as at least 1-semester of experience advising or mentoring students, and/or supervising undergraduate research. May work remotely from home, but must live within commuting distance of campus.
