Duties:

  • Report to and assist with job functions associated with the office of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Staff Development and Human Resources

  • Process transactions such as appointments, promotions, and leaves of absences for District Employees

  • Prepare and maintains employee records including personnel files and using the District employee management system.

  • Interpret and apply Civil Service Rules and New York school laws pertaining to certified and uncertified employees.

  • Process health benefits, FMLA, and Workers Compensation paperwork

  • Maintain records and data for employee professional development hours, training, and sometimes school staff development and curriculum work.

  • Prepare assessment reports using Nvision, Data Warehouse, iReady, Infinite Campus, Forecast 5 and other district specific programs

  • Assist and coordinate the maintenance of employee time, attendance, and associated reports for the Office of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Human Resources

  • Assist with planning, preparing and monitoring the District Budget for the Office of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Human Resources.

  • Prepare purchases orders for the Office of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Human Resources.

  • Prepare agenda items for Board of Education meetings

  • Answer inquiries relating to the office operations and provides information on employee benefits to employees as stated in the District's Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Assist new clerical staff with the creation of Purchase Orders and other job responsibilities

  • Utilize Frontline and Vector/ Safe Schools Software to assist with the coordination of professional development and mandated compliance training for all employees.

  • Assist with the coordination of grant applications and amendments

  • Coordinate conference and travel needs and reimbursement for conferences within the department

  • Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Human Resources with clerical tasks including coordinating of his or her calendar, appointments, communication, written and verbal, with parents, employees and community members.

  • Utilize enhanced computer systems and equipment in the performance of assigned clerical tasks

  • Answer inquiries relating to office operations and provides information on services of funding

  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, and parents

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Staff Development, and Human Resources

    Additional Job Information

Qualifications:

1. Two years (2) college with a major in Business or Commercial subject and one (1) year satisfactory general office and typing experience; OR
  1. Three (3) years of satisfactory general office and typing experience; OR

  2. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (1) and (2)

  3. Reachable on Civil Service Principal Clerk Typist list or eligible for provisional appointment

  4. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, keyboarding, and other common programs
