Director, Technical Sourcing Engineering

As a leader of the technical value engineering team, you'll closely work with R&D, quality, procurement, and commodity managers to align the global sourcing strategy and supply base to drive new value engineering projects, manufacturing scale-up, resolve supplier quality issues. Primary focus on chemical and biological products

What will you do?

  • Develop and lead resources efficiently and effectively in a multi-functional / matrixed organization completing alternative sourcing, efficiency projects, and delivering value globally.

  • Coordinate project controls, resources, costs.

  • Develop and lead resourcing and workload models providing activity clarity and reporting capability.

  • Coordinate resources and tasks across different functions and work with partners to set up governance and a standard methodology (schedules, heatmaps, resource management, metric impact, value)

  • Drive communication to the department’s customers: multi-group, multi-business unit, and divisional leadership focusing on prioritization of work and alignment to business priorities.

  • Govern and lead systems of record such as PPM Pro, Power BI tools, and tools for practical process improvement.

  • Support the organization in the effort of communicating value brought to the overall company.

  • Build value as the technical leader among peer level leadership within multi-functional teams facilitating communication, decision making, and execution.

  • Drive team’s in gathering requirements, crafting and testing design specs, and mentor teams through systems, processes, and the use of applicable software to deliver desired results.

How will you get here:

Education

  • Bachelor's in Chemical or Biological degree or equivalent experience preferred (Master degree or equivalent experience a plus)

Experience

  • 10+ years’ work experience with demonstrated ability leading global technical teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management

  • Continuous improvement experience desired (lean principles, PPI, Six Sigma, 5S)

  • Project Management experience, and PMP certification or applicable desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Project Management skills, and experience with the utilization of tools, software, and practices used in day-to-day project management execution.

  • Experience in biotech, pharma, med-device and cell therapy along with the equipment, supplies, and suppliers within these industries.

  • Capable of leading or supporting multi-functional teams.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and demonstrated ability to communicate multiple levels of an organization both internally and externally.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills involving science and engineering.

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.

  • Flexibility and understanding of business to address immediate priorities while meeting deadlines with longer-term projects and central initiatives.

  • Thrives in a dynamic work environment.

  • Attention to detail and customer-centric

  • Strong understanding of processes, documentation, testing, and quality requirements for materials and finished goods within our industry.

  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally approximately up to 20% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $160,100.00–$240,125.00.
